THE MANUAL

Issue Indicators

  1. High Latency

Latency, or ping, is the amount of time it takes the game and the server to communicate with each other. When latency gets too high, the game will slow down or stop working entirely.

  1. Connection Issue

In order to run a match, Hunt needs to connect to a dedicated online server. If you are disconnected, and a connection cannot be re-established within a certain amount of time, it is considered lost, and you will be returned to the menu.

  1. Backend Issue

If the connection between the game and the backend server isn t working, the proximity-based in-game text chat will not work though you will still be able to play. The game will try to re-establish a connection in the background, or you will be prompted to reconnect when returning in the menu. 4. Package Loss

A Hunt match runs based on the exchange of information packages of data between the game on your computer and the dedicated online server. If too many of those packets are lost (aka high package loss rate ), it can cause issues like rubberbanding, teleportation, abrupt changes in AI and remote player behavior, or problems and delays registering your own in-game actions.

  1. High Package Reordering

When the network connection is slow or network hardware is overloaded, the communication between the game and the dedicated online server can be delayed, which can in turn lead to information being processed out order or in the worst case, dropped completely. This is called high package reordering, and it can cause similar problems to those listed under package loss and high latency.

  1. Server Performance

Game servers can handle a certain number of players. When that number exceeds server capacity, problems with rubberbanding, increased hit validation rate, and delays in registration of player actions in-game can occur.

  1. Game Server Connectivity Issue

The game server has a connectivity issue. The game will try to re-establish the connection in the background, and you will be prompted to reconnect when returning in the menu. Rewards will be given once the connection is restored.
