Status Effects

What are Status Effects?

Hunters can be afflicted with various Status Effects, inflicted by Corrupted, Targets, Tools, Weapons, and Consumables. Most Status Effects inflict damage, however not all.

Bleeding

Bleeding causes a continuous loss of Health Points. To stop Bleeding, press and hold the interaction prompt indicated until it is stopped. If you do not stop Bleeding, you will continue to lose Health Points until you are Downed. While you are in the process of stopping the Bleeding, you cannot do anything else, and are more vulnerable to attack.

Burning

Burning causes a continuous loss of Health Points for as long as you are Burning, damaging your Health Chunks over time and destroying them completely once depleted. To stop Burning, press and hold the interaction prompt. If Burning depletes your Health Points to 0, you cannot be revived and will die permanently. A partially burned Health Chunk will regenerate on its own, but more slowly than usual.

Poisoned

Poison does not inflict damage over time (unless you are standing in a cloud of poison,) but while Poisoned, health does not regenerate on its own and cannot be manually healed. Poison wears off on its own over time.
